Latest from New Zealand! Everyone loves peanut butter! From the most southerly-southern reaches of Stewart Island to the far northern tip of Cape Reinga, Kiwi’s can’t get enough of the roasted, golden goodness. These little islands are besotted with the stuff. To be honest, the granola makers at Hubbards aren’t immune from the nutty obsession. So…we took a road trip to get help from some friends to help us crack the nut (for pun spotters…yip, that’s one!) of capturing this goodness in our granola. 633km later, we ended up at the window of Fix and Fogg, the Welly-based lawyers and PB afficionados, who helped us create this crunchy explosion of peanuts with a scoop of peanut butter. That’s our journey, but your journey today is just beginning. So fuel up with a peanut butter fix and get going!
Super Seeds Granola
Sometimes life is as hectic as a bustling city: busy brain, calendar grid-locked, to-do lists honking for attention… On days like this you need a breakfast that’ll allow you to fly high above the noise with steely determination. That’s where super seeds save the day – the tiny yet mighty nuggets provide marvellous amounts of energy, protein and impressive nutrients to restart the engines of even the most frazzled of souls. And just your luck, this bag you’re holding is jam packed with them. A yumptious way to sow the seeds for a successful day ahead.
Raspberry, Cranberry & Coconut Granola
Our masked heroine soars high in the sky like the elegant Kea she is, eyes darting, spying out the ripest raspberries and cranberries she swoops to pilfer armloads of the jewel like fruit from the fields below. Our granola master (the brains of the operation) then combines them with crunchy nuts and seeds, to create this exquisite granola that Keas would approve. So open this pouch up and try our famous loot. What a birdy beautiful way to start your day.
Pistachio, Almond & Chia Seed Granola
Here at Hubbards we’re not quite as old as Le Cordon Bleu, but for 30 years our culinary breakfast artists have been perfecting the ultimate morning dish. The poshest of noshes, we’ve summoned the finest of the nut gamily to join a textural extravaganza in bringing the fruit-free, restaurant-worthy joy to your tastebuds. If this were a restaurant, our description might read: “Vibrant line caught pistachios toasted over a slow fire together with seasonally harvested almonds, a smattering of chia and finished with fragrant vanilla notes.” Personally, we’d probably explain things a bit more casually than that, but either way, we urge you to book a breaky reservation and tuck into what might just be the world’s finest granola.
Black Doris Plum & Almond Granola
How do we create granola here at Hubbards? A good amount of breakfast know-how, green-thumbed ingredient knowledge and a pinch of plum luck to ensure everything comes together! Take this wish list of ingredients for example: almonds, raspberries, amaranth, buckwheat and sunflower seeds required some nifty recipe engineering (and a pinch of good luck of course!) to make a deliciously crunchy experience. So it is only fitting that honoured it in the best way we know how, by adding freeze-dried black doris plum, to make this granola all come together. So what are you waiting for? Create your own wish list…with a spoonful of plum luck, it might all come true.
Passionfruit, Coconut & Pineapple Granola
Fancy a little trip to a tropical paradise? Then head to the pantry. That’s right. This exotic, crispy Granola has just the right blend to whisk you away to somewhere bathed in sunshine while passionfruit, coconut and pineapple do a slow-motion hula on your tongue. Then amongst all the dreaminess, you’ll say “Aloha!” to some toasty, oven-baked crunch with a smattering of buckwheat, sunflower & pumpkin seeds. It’s the sort of tropical fruit and golden crunch combo that’ll soon have you longing for a repeat trip. At morning tea, lunchtime, afternoon tea…
Blueberry, Pistachio & Millet Granola
Did you just peek at the last page to see how it all turns out? We heartily agree breakfast is no time for delayed gratification. So put down that Dan Brown, and discover the especially tasty bits here.
From the first mouthful, you will get plenty of moreish nutty pistachios and sliced almonds. Plump, tangy blueberries and tart currants are front and centre too – while posh grains like lightly puffed millet and crisp buckwheat are liberally scattered like there’s no tomorrow. It’s quite the flavoursome adventure.
Cacao & Coffee Granola
Long ago, before breakfast was a thing, some brainy Mayans discovered the cacao bean. Fast forward a few years (we are breakfastarians, not historians), and high on a hill in Ethiopia, some frisky goats discovered coffee. Yes, you read that right. Goat herders noticed their flocks frolicking with energy after eating the coffee bush. Isn’t it marvellous a team of breakfast brainiacs here at Hubbards had the idea of combining the two, and teaming up with local legends L’affare to use their signature blend, Primo. The result…complex and delicious cacao and coffee breakfast heaven. So stop reading this pouch and open it up to spill the beans. It’s time to eat some history for breakfast…
Gluten Free Raspberry & Maple Granola
The secret to making an incredibly delicious gluten free granola is to get in quick and grab some of the best ingredients. We hunted out buckwheat amaranth and cashews, but they spotted us first and dashed off giggling, leaving us in the dust. Sprinting to keep up, we snagged them together in one happy, wholesome cluster, with a hint of maple to sweeten the deal. To be honest, we’re all still puffing hard – those taste ingredients sure do run fast! But we have rounded them all up now in this pouch to let your taste buds run free. So hurry and put them in your tum.
Gluten Free Almond, Pecan & Vanilla Granola
Not sure where to find great tasting, gluten free granola? Here’s a hint. – Congratulations. You’re holding it right now. Since that hint’s a bit redundant, here’s another – vanilla, sweet but not too sweet, aromatic and downright yummy, vanilla. There’s a dash, a trace, a whiff, a smattering of it in this pack. And you can just imagine how well it goes with almonds, pecans, creamy coconut, buckwheat, seeds and puffed amaranth. It sneaks up and gives you a little vanillary peck on the lips, like a first kiss in a dark movie theatre. And here’s one final hint – you can eat it any time, not just breakfast, radical!
